What you may do with all of this.
An open standard is only open if its terms are written down. This page says which licence each part carries, how the name and the mark may be used, and what this website collects.
The licences
These are the licences each published part carries. Version 0.1 is published, in the public repository.

- Apache License 2.0. Implement it, extend it, build a product on it, with no fee and no permission.

- CC0 1.0, placed in the public domain, so an implementation can check itself against them without a licence to worry about.

KHALM's commercial products are licensed separately, under their own agreements. None of them is needed to make, check or grade a record.
The name and the mark
Anyone may use the name Verifiable Model Record, the short form VMR, and the VMR mark to refer to the standard: in documentation, in an implementation's name, in a talk, in an article. Use the mark unchanged, without recolouring it, stretching it or adding to it.
Never use them in a way that suggests certification, approval or endorsement. There is no such thing as a certified model, and nobody — KHALM included — may describe a model or a record as “VMR Verified”.
A claim that an implementation conforms to the standard will mean one thing: that it passes the named version of the standard's open conformance test. The name, the short form and the mark belong to KHALM LLC.
No warranty, and no legal advice
The specification, the tools and the packs are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. Where Apache 2.0 applies, its own terms on warranties and liability govern.
A record is evidence to be checked, never proof that a model is safe, accurate or fair. A policy pack's result means the record satisfies that pack's rules; it is not a legal finding, and the reference packs are not legal advice.
The bodies whose texts the reference packs read — among them the European Union, NIST, ISO and IEC, the C2PA and the IETF — have neither authored nor endorsed those packs, and are not associated with KHALM or with this standard.
What this site collects
Nothing. There are no cookies, no scripts, no analytics, no accounts and no forms on this website, and it asks you for nothing. Its pages are plain HTML and CSS.
The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles the technical details of each request, such as the address it came from, to deliver the page and keep the service up. KHALM stores no personal data from this site and sets nothing on your device.
Who publishes this
The Verifiable Model Record standard, its reference tools and this website are published by KHALM LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.
